Basic principles
Poker is played with a deck of 52 cards (it does not play with the jokers). The goal is to provide the best combination of five cards through 7 cards at your disposal: either with one of your two cards in hand and 4 table, either with your two cards in hand and 3 of the table. The challenge is to win the pot constituted by players bets.
Cards dealing
Texas holdem poker is played from 2 to 10 players per table. In Major tournaments, many more players participate in poker game and are splitted on maximum 10 players per table. Before the game starts, all players pick a card, the one who obtains the highest card is called dealer. In online poker, cards are dealt automatically.
The dealer deals cards to all participants and determines who will play first, that would be the second player in the left of the dealer. Betting goes clockwise around the table
How is played a poker game
Forced bets "the blind"
The forced bets called "Blind" permist to start the game. The first player on the left of the dealer put the small blind and the big blind is deposited by the following player. The "big blind" is most often two times the value of the "small blind", but at the beginning of the game the small blind can have the same value as the big blind.
In poker online tournament or in real tournament, at an advanced level another bet is used the "ante". This is a mandatory bet that all players must deposit before the dealer deals the cards.
Betting in poker
Betiting in Poker are players announce to their opponents whne it is their turn to speak. Each player can take these following actions:
- "Fold": abandon.
- "Check" : not betting and continue to play.
- "Call" : match the previous players bid to continue to play.
- "Bet" : for forcing players to fold or to follow you.
- "Raise" : bet a higher bid than the others player.
In General, players that have a good combination of cards bet to increase the pot.
Those who are indifferent will simply follow the game of their predecessors.
Players who believe that their hands are bad decide to abandon the game in order to lose less money as possible.
Then, each player are free to bluff: raise to make believe players has a good hand then that this is not the case in the hope that other players will take the bet, and fear and decide to fold.
